Not the usual blog for a Foodie Web Site

I know I should be talking about food and baking to you, but maybe I also need to let you all know a little bit more of who Sandy is. In all honesty I can’t let you know everything I must keep an air of mystery. The picture is the most beautiful and obedient little pal I think I’ve ever had.Sloopy! Named after a pop song I grew up with “Hang on Sloopy” by the McCoys. I’m a bit sentimental about her as when I’m home on school holiday I really see how fragile she has become. We’re up and out normally and I spend my day pretending she is running round the house causing damage as she could do as a young pup. Someone said to me when I first got her “what’s that?” a frightened and timid rescue dog only 1 year old, but they soon grew to love her as much as I do. That was 20years ago. I wake each day wondering if she will get up with me and be keen to go for a walk or if this is the day she stays at home. I really don’t want to think about her not being here but I do have to start preparing myself. Which is why I think she is my blog for the week because I will need all your support when the time comes and so to introduce her now seems right.
It is about food as Sloopy has been present in front of the oven through just about everything I’ve made and created in the last 20 years. She has stood guard over fruit cakes and watched meringues turn golden and Yorkshire puddings rise till they hit the top of the oven (in my dreams with that one)
If this little lady could have come to the Bake Off Tent with me I wouldn’t have hesitated. But! You know what? I really think she was there with me!
KEEP BAKING AND COOKING EVERYONE AND NEVER MIND THE MISTAKES THEY ARE JUST NEW IDEAS IN THE MAKING.

Lovely to hear about dearest Sloopy. I’d love to meet her some day.
I love your blog Sandy and your wonderful personality comes jumping out with all your vitality.
I’m looking forward to your update and I’ve already tried some of your recipes and they were fantastic….you clever lady!
All my love Marie, a pal from the tent X
